16 hours per week, all year round
N3: £7,811 to £7,968 pa (actual)
1 year fixed term, required for September 2019
Studio West is an exciting studio school, which opened in September 2014. As part of Kenton School’s Academy, Studio West cater for around 300 students aged between 11 and 19, and are currently over-subscribed for year 7.
At Studio West, in addition to mainstream qualifications (including GCSEs, A Levels, and Occupational and professional qualifications), we offer an innovative and personalised curriculum for every student-focused on developing key employability and life skills required by employers. Much of our curriculum is delivered through project based learning, working alongside our business partners and our mission is to make sure that every student who leaves Studio West does so with a university or college place, an apprenticeship or a job.
Given the school’s success, we are in a position to expand our technical team to create this new role. Supporting our team of Learning Coaches, the role will involve setting up and dismantling of equipment and resources, ordering stocks and supplies and maintaining our databases.
We are seeking applications from candidates with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with both children and adults. A knowledge of health and safety with the ability to carry out risk assessments is essential. Whilst the role will involve working across all teaching departments, a large proportion of working time will be spent supporting Art and Technology therefore a relevant qualification and/or experience working in either discipline would be desirable.
Post holders will be required to move, set up and dismantle equipment on a regular basis, i.e. lift bags of clay, therefore candidates must be able to fulfil this requirement of the role. The successful applicant will be required to use their initiative to keep their areas of responsibility running smoothly.
In return, you will play a key role in embedding Studio West as a school of choice in the local community with the support of not only the Studio West team, but the wider Trust. If you think you have the experience, skills and abilities to be successful in this role, further details can be found in our Application pack including job description and person specification
