Studio West is an exciting studio school, which opened in September 2014. As part of Kenton School's Academy, Studio West cater for around 300 students aged between 11 and 19 with student numbers increasing year on year.
At Studio West, in addition to mainstream qualifications (including GCSEs, A Levels, and Occupational and professional qualifications), we offer an innovative and personalised curriculum for every student focused on developing key employability and life skills required by employers. Much of our curriculum is delivered through project based learning, working alongside our business partners and our mission is to make sure that every student who leaves Studio West does so with a university or college place, an apprenticeship or a job.
The role we are advertising is an exciting and unique one. Supporting our Learning Coaches, the successful candidate will support the PE curriculum through the delivery of Girls PE sessions. In addition, the role will have a pastoral element working as a Personal Coach to work with individual and groups of students to develop individual learning plans and ensure that students curriculum and work related learning needs are met.
We are seeking applications from candidates with a sports/PE background combined with significant experience working with children and young people in learning environment, with the ability to manage and motivate students to ensure positive learning outcomes.
Candidates must also possess an understanding of the barriers to learning for children and young people and a working knowledge of strategies to overcome them combined with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective, professional relationships with all stakeholders. And most importantly, candidates must have the ability and flexibility to adapt to ensure the needs of all students are met.
