Supporting Studio West
Studio West are looking for support from local residents in helping to fund some exciting projects for both the students and the wider community. You can find out more about how you can help below.
Tesco Bags of Help Initiative
Studio West is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch the monthly funding scheme, which sees grants of £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 - all raised from the 5p bag levy - being awarded to local outdoor community projects.
Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and this month, Studio West is one of the groups on the shortlist. The school want to develop an allotment where students can develop life skills and create an area that other young people and members of the community can use.
Sam McLoughlin, Business Engagement Manager at Studio West, said: "We are really excited to have been shortlisted. Once complete we aim to have a space that students from our school can use for lessons around growing fruit and vegatables, gardening and the environment. We would also hope to extend this offer to nearby primary schools and community groups."
Voting is open in stores from 1 February to 25 February. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the checkout in store each time they shop.
Just Giving - Fundraising for Studio West
To support the project above and further projects at Studio West, we are raising money to help significantly enrich the lives of our young people, through Just Giving.
The money raised will go towards equipment, tools, seeds and materials for raised beds, and we're asking members of the local community to give what they can to help!
