Studio Press October 2016

Wednesday 19th October, 2016

A message from Mrs. Wigham

We have made an excellent start to our third year here at Studio West. This first half term has certainly been action-packed!

We had our first set of GCSE exam results for Year 11 in August and they were excellent. Our Year 13’s left us to take up apprenticeships, places at university or begin their new careers.

Our Sixth Form is now 60 strong and they have started their courses with enthusiasm. The second half of this term will see them all begin their paid work-placements. The world of work is just opening up to them and they will soon discover just what it all means.

Year 11 students have the most important year ahead of them as they prepare for their GCSE’s. They have started well and, for many, their progress is already exceeding expectation.

Year 10 students have also started the term well and, for the majority, they are well on their way to GCSE success. I am so proud of how they have developed and matured. This year will be an amazing one for them as they start their work placements and I have every confidence they will represent the school well.

Year 9 students are just finding their feet and starting to understand what Studio West is all about. I’m sure they will take full advantage of everything that is on offer and become excellent advocates for the school. September 2017 will see our first Year 7 intake and plans are underway to ensure that this will be an exciting and successful venture. I will keep you updated as we progress with this throughout the year.

Have a lovely half term everyone and I look forward to the second half term being even more successful! There are lots of things happening over half term; check the website to make sure you don’t miss out.
