The Curriculum

Studio West provides an academically excellent curriculum based around a general core of 8/9 GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Dual Science at KS4 and at Post 16 students will work towards AS/A levels, BTECs, Work Placements and Project Based Learning.

Vision, Rationale, and Key Features

Studio West promotes an educational culture which is creative, scientific, technological, enterprising and occupational. We aim to provide our students with the skills needed to progress to employment, apprenticeships, further or higher education according to their individual abilities, aptitudes and ambitions.

We raise standards through the use of innovative project based teaching and learning strategies for all students across all abilities, leading to whole school improvement and performance. Through business and community partnerships and the harnessing of new technologies we prepare young people for the challenges of the 21st century, challenges which include rapid scientific, social and occupational change. Studio West is developing as a centre of excellence, contributing to, and supporting the development of new ideas, generating a spirit of innovation and enterprise, and raising expectations and achievement. Studio West inspires students to learn, enjoy and achieve learning and keep learning throughout life.
