Studio West runs Duke of Edinburgh for all Key Stage 4 students from their point of entry. Students progress through Bronze to Silver and ultimately Gold Award.

Many young people find achieving a DofE Award life-changing. It is fun, it provides adventure and it is a major challenge. They develop new skills and learn how to work with others as part of a team. Young people get the opportunity to push their personal boundaries and experience new activities and new places.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award enriches experience and enhances CVs. It also broadens horizons and allows for new perspectives. Young people are inspired to try new things and be the best they can be.

Our Duke of Edinburgh qualification is exciting and runs alongside our, Academic and CREATE programmes, to provide each individual with an incredibly rounded and wholesome experience here at Studio West.

What does it entail?

Volunteering

Volunteering gives you the chance to make a difference to people's lives and use your skills and experience to help your local community.It gives you the opportunity to become involved in a project or with an organisation that you really care about.

Skills

Developing a skill helps you get better at something you are really interested in and gives you the confidence and ability to use this skill both now and later in life.

Expedition

Going on an expedition gives you the chance to have an adventure, work as a team, and act on your own initiative.

Residential

Going on a residential gives you the chance to learn how to work with people from different backgrounds and build confidence living in new environments. There are loads of exciting possibilities and opportunities, so choose something which you will find really fulfilling.
